Workforce Development Programs
Moving From Crisis To Assets
Center For Working Families (CWF) members work to increase assets, develop their education, and gain better opportunities for employment. The program uses a membership based model where applicants commit to working with a coach to set and meet their goals. Services provided include: workshops, one-to-one coaching and group activities in the area of financial literacy and responsibility, income support resources and education training opportunities.
EMCC is ensuring that heads of households have the skills and resources they need to move from crisis stabilization to asset development. Families will move through initial services and programs that meet their needs, and then leverage skills, abilities, and their desire for a better financial situation, by working through a system of level-based programming

Logistics Associate
Logistics Associate students learn to operate a fork lift. The 2 ½ week class focuses on the development of an entry-level warehouse and/or logistics employee. Working with partner Merchandise Warehouse, students will learn to operate three classes of forklifts safely (stand up, reach, and sit down) as well as receive their OSHA 10-Hour certification in General Industry. Students are eligible to sit for the MSSC-Certified Logistics Associate Certification and receive certification in LockOut/Tagout and Bloodborne pathogens. After successful completion of this course, students are offered job development assistance including resume creation, mock interviews, and specific job leads to assist in finding entry-level employment.
The video at right, produced by Merchandise Warehouse, shows how satisfied their organization has been with Edna Martin Christian Center and the students coming from our program.
