Remembering Mr. Johnny Purchase, Please Support the family

The Edna Martin Christian Center is asking for your prayers as we mourn the tragic loss of Mr. Johnny Purchase, one of our Family Success Coaches. A dedicated professional whose commitment to community youth knew no bounds, our brother was one of the five victims of gun violence our City experienced on January 12.

COVID-19 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE ENROLLMENT

Edna Martin Christian Center (EMCC) and Public Advocates in Community Re-Entry (PACE) take seriously the responsibility to help our neighbors, and even more so during this crisis. Both organizations have received C-CERF funds to continue and expand their work during this critical time. Together, we have developed a collective strategy and will be deploying it as part of the Martindale-Brightwood 7 Initiative (MB7). Click below to learn more and apply.

EMCC's Response to the Unrest

Edna Martin Christian Center President & CEO Barato Britt offers our perspective on the unrest in our our nation's capitol:

" ... Unnecessary loss of life can never be overlooked, and our deepest sympathies and prayers go to the victims and families of the violence we have seen this week. We likewise pray for our nation, ever recognizing that through God, the adversity that seems never ending will soon give way to a brighter tomorrow. Our Lord gives us nothing we cannot overcome, still we recognize faith without works is truly dead. For our part, the Edna Martin Christian Center remains grateful for the awesome privilege to stand in the gap at this moment in history."  Click here to read the rest ....
