Our Programs.
An In-Depth look at the resources we are investing into the Community.
In the spirit of transparency between Edna Martin Christian Center and the Martindale-Brightwood community, our annual reports are made publicly available. We hope to foster trust, confidence, and mutual respect in the community by clearly communicating all the ways community resources are being used to enrich and benefit our neighbors and neighborhood.
Change Starts Here.
Edna Martin focused her ministry in Martindale Brightwood on meeting residents’ immediate needs–sharing hope, providing resources, and creating opportunities to learn, build skills, and grow community.
Today EMCC continues to offer programs and resources tailored to the evolving needs of our neighborhood. Learn how to get involved below.

Supporting academic excellence is a priority at EMCC. We offer a continuum of high-quality programs for children, beginning as early as 6 week old infants in our childcare, and running throughout the K-12 grades and beyond. Adults can pursue academic goals too! Click below to learn more about our programs and how they might be a resource for your family.
EMCC provides adults and older youth with opportunities and resources designed to break down obstacles keeping you from reaching your full potential. Martindale Brightwood is home to many residents who have lived here their entire lives and continue to give back to the community in a multitude of ways. EMCC’s Senior Angels program is one way for older adults to connect, learn, share and enjoy meeting new neighbors. Click below to learn more.
Edna Martin provides emergency resources including our year-round food pantry, and seasonal emergency assistance programs such as EAP and WAF. Click below to learn more.
At EMCC we believe not just in serving our community but in building agency, skills, and relationships that have life-long, community-wide impact. The challenges we face are many, and we are better equipped to rise alongside our community if we are able to build institutions, businesses, and young people who can build our collective self-reliance and self-determination to meet our community’s needs.
