Education.

At Edna Martin Christian Center, we help students grow, learn, and succeed.

At Edna Martin Christian Center, education is at the heart of everything we do. From early childhood programs that help children arrive at kindergarten ready to after-school and enrichment programs that strengthen academic skills, we support learners of all ages. Our goal is to provide resources, guidance, and encouragement so that students can reach their full potential, succeed in school, and build a foundation for lifelong learning. By focusing on both academics and personal growth, we help create confident, capable, and prepared members of the community.

The future is in the hands on the next generation.

At Edna Martin Christian Center, we believe that the future of our community depends on empowering the next generation. Since our founding in 1941 by Edna Martin, our mission has been to provide programs, resources, and opportunities that help children, youth, and families grow, learn, and thrive. What started as a small neighborhood initiative has grown into a center where young people can explore their potential, build strong foundations, and prepare to lead with confidence. By supporting our programs, you help ensure that the leaders of tomorrow have the guidance and support they need today.

Learning And Growing at EMCC

EMCC is ensuring youth have the skills to succeed in school and life as well as understanding their responsibility to better themselves and their community. At EMCC they will be provided instruction, support and resources they need to develop and master skills that will ensure they are kindergarten ready, academically strong and college bound. They will also have opportunities to discover their gifts and talents in three focus areas of the Center: STEM, Arts & Culture/Humanities, and health promotion.

Parents As Teachers

Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a national, evidence-based home visitation program, geared towards serving families with children prenatally through kindergarten. The goals of the program are to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices, to provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to increase children’s school readiness and school success. The package of services is framed around four dynamic components: personal visits, group connections, child screenings, and resource network.
